In our catered chalets, we really do pride ourselves on the quality of our food and catering. We love food. We are all very much foodies here at Buildmyskitrip.com. That is why our entire ethos for the chalets is based upon the idea of a GENEROUS and INDULGENT menu, with freshly prepared, devilishly moreish, great food (and drink of course). Everything is cooked fresh in the chalets every day, by your very own dedicated and friendly chalet team.
To us, it is quite simple. We want our customers to be excited at the thought of coming back to the chalet each day. Eagerly looking forward to a sumptuous, yummy cake by the fire, delectable wine that makes it completely acceptable to drink 7 nights in a row (you are on holiday after all) and most importantly, a mouth-watering, generous and indulgent meal that is hopefully one of those meals where you think “wow, I can’t stop putting this in my mouth”. A GREAT catered chalet is BOTH great accommodation AND great food.
A company is only as good as its staff. Never more true than for a catered chalet company. No matter how lovely our chalets might be, they would be nothing without our staff. We spend countless hours, every year recruiting the best chalet hosts to run our chalets.
However, in order to attract the best, we must offer the best. We therefore offer our chalet hosts one of the most competitive packages in the industry and also staff our chalets with more staff than the industry standard. Why is this important? Because there is a fundamental difference between working hard and being overworked. After all, how can an overworked chalet host be friendly and charismatic or go the extra mile to ensure you have a perfect holiday?
That is why we strive to create the best possible working environment for our staff. It’s not rocket science at the end of the day. If we have happy chalet hosts, treated well, paid well and who enjoy working for our company, they will be GREAT chalet hosts for you the customer. HAPPY chalet host = HAPPY customer = HAPPY company.
We might have mentioned it already, but we really do LOVE FOOD. When you come back to the chalet after a long day of skiing, what is better than being greeted by a roaring fire, warm chalet, yummy cake and of course, a mouthwatering evening meal? It is one of the reasons people book a catered chalet and it is certainly our favourite part. How can we deliver this experience, with great food and catering for our customers? With our fantastic team of chefs in each of our chalets.
Once upon a time in our very first years, we followed the model of our chalet staff doing everything. Hosting, cleaning, cooking (not in that order of course). However, how can you deliver great food, when your time is divided by so many duties and tasks? This is why we run all but just one of our chalets with BOTH a dedicated chef and chalet host(s). This means that our lovely chefs are free to fully dedicate themselves to cooking you wonderful dishes each day and showing you why they love cooking so much. Everything COOKED FRESH, every day.
Our food menus are all about French, mountain food, but with a twist and influence from other parts of the world (even we understand that cheese every day is maybe a bit much!). Since day one of our catered chalets, GENEROUS and INDULGENT have always been the two key staples of our menu. Have you ever been to a restaurant where you had something really nice, but were left thinking “that was great, but I would have liked more…”? Well, not in our chalets! We’re here to help you offset all those many calories you burn on the piste each day.
Each summer we spend a huge amount of time tweaking and refining our menus, developing ideas with our chefs and a lot of testing and tasting (so much fun), to ensure that we are continually improving and enhancing our menu for you, each year. Our menus consist of cooked and continental breakfast in the morning, afternoon tea and cake, pre-dinner canapés and a 3 course evening meal each day. You can view the menus below and don’t worry, the really important stuff (wine) hasn’t been mentioned above, because it has its entire own section below.
Catered chalets and wine are like Pasta and Italy. The two go hand in hand and we know very well how important GOOD wine is to a GREAT catered chalet. We spend a huge amount of time selecting our wines each year and tasting countless bottles throughout the summer. It is a difficult job we know, but someone has to do it... Joking aside, it really is important to us to be able to offer great BOTTLED wines in all of our chalets. Wines that complement all of our lovely meals and hopefully have you struggling to put down your glass!
Our chalets have two options when it comes to the wine. Our House wines, which consist of a brilliant selection of 4 reds, 4 whites and 2 rosés and then our upgrade selection that we have hand-selected from a stunning vineyard in Provence, Domaine Milan. Our wines are provided with all evening meals and you can read more about our lovely wines via the link below.
We understand that everyone is different and that all of us have different preferences, dietary requirements and tastes. Our menus have been designed to accommodate all dietary requirements and we are here to accommodate you as best we can. Whether you are vegan, veggie, coeliac, gluten free, pescatarian or even just don’t like mushrooms, we will have something for you.
When you book one of our chalets, you can view all menus and specify any dietary requirements directly on our manage booking system. Our friendly resort team will then be in touch BEFORE your arrival, to discuss the menu and any dietary requirements with you. Leaving nothing to worry about whilst in resort.
