You can read below all about our fantastic and dedicated team here at Buildmyskitrip.com. We are a family-run business that strives to offer a truly personal experience for all of our customers. We are not a big, faceless company. We want to get to know every one of our customers and we want you to build a relationship with our staff and the people helping to arrange your amazing holiday.
All of our team live and breathe the Alps and most importantly, KNOW everything there is to know about our 3 resorts and all 14 of our lovely catered chalets. Most importantly, all of our staff have also stayed in each of our chalets. This allows our staff to give you the best possible advice, based on their very own personal experiences. If we don’t think a chalet will suit you, we won’t recommend it to you. Why? Because your experience will always be at the forefront of everything we do.
Laurence founded Build My Ski Trip in 2013 with a mission to make booking ski holidays easier—especially for beginners who don’t know their boots from their bindings. His passion for skiing began aged 11, when his mum first organised a large family holiday to Sainte Foy for Christmas. None of them had ever skied before, and the family were simply in search of a white Christmas. Little did Laurence know, this first winter holiday—full of laughter, chaos, and plenty of learning—would go on to shape his entire career and the rest of his life.
Having spent many seasons in our three resorts—Val d'Isère, Tignes, and Val Thorens—Laurence knows them inside out. From the best runs to the tastiest food, and most importantly, the best après spots, he’s got it all covered. A lifelong Arsenal fan, Laurence is no stranger to navigating ups and downs—but luckily, in skiing, that’s part of the fun!
When he’s not skiing, Laurence is a wine enthusiast, always on the lookout for the perfect bottle to pair with a hearty meal. If you’re after a good steak, Côte de Boeuf is his absolute favourite meal, and he knows all the best places to enjoy a top-notch steak and a fine glass of wine after a long day on the slopes. Whether you’re a foodie, a wine lover, or a first-time skier, Laurence has the insider knowledge to make sure your trip is unforgettable.
With over seven years of experience at Buildmyskitrip, Maddy has become an expert in crafting the perfect ski getaway. Having lived in all three of our resorts—Val d'Isère, Tignes, and Val Thorens—she knows every corner of them, from the best runs to the most delicious food and, of course, the après-ski spots that everyone loves.
When she's not helping guests plan their dream trips, you’ll find her chasing bluebird days in the mountains . And when it comes to food, she’s all about the vegetarian options, with a special love for the Alps' cheesy dishes, with Beaufort and Reblochon as her favourite Savoyard cheeses. Her favourite dish? A tartiflette pizza, minus the bacon!
March is her favourite time to ski, with longer days, more après, and plenty of sun to soak up between runs. Outside of skiing, she's an avid scuba diver, always ready to dive into new adventures.
Ben joined the team as Ski Holiday Specialist with a passion for helping others find the perfect ski holiday. Though he’s currently on his own journey to become a skilled skier, he’s the perfect person to chat with about beginner-friendly slopes, tips for getting started, and recommendations for those looking to take it easy on their first few days.
When he’s not selling ski trips, Ben is a semi-pro footballer, always pushing himself to improve, whether on the pitch or the slopes. His commitment to learning and growing as a skier means he understands exactly what it’s like to be a beginner—and he’s excited to share his insights with anyone who’s just starting out.
Ben’s favourite meal is croziflette, a delicious Savoyard dish made with small square pasta, melted Reblochon cheese, cream, and potatoes—basically, the Alps in a bowl. It’s the perfect comfort food after a day on the slopes.
Meet Posie, our adventurous Bedlington Terrier, who’s been frequenting the French Alps since she was just 6 months old—and she’s already an ski expert! Having spent a season in the French Alps, she’s practically a local, loving everything from long walks along the Val d’Isère trails to frolicking across the frozen lake in Tignes. Snow? She can’t get enough of it—nothing makes her happier than rolling around in the fresh powder.
She’s also a regular at the Follie Douce DJ booth, where she’s been known to enjoy the beats just as much as the après-ski. Whether she’s soaking up the sun or chasing snowflakes, she’s always up for an adventure in the mountains, and she’s here to remind us that life is better with a bit of snow and a wagging tail.
Originally from Finland, Jouni has called Barcelona home for the past nine years, but the mountains have always been where he truly belongs. He first clipped into skis at just three years old and has spent the last 38 years in the ski travel industry—experiencing it from every angle, as a guest, resort staff member, tour operator, and even a chalet owner.
His first season job was in Val d’Isère back in 1988/89, and now, three decades later, he’s back for his fourth winter with Build My Ski Trip. While skiing is his first love, he’s also no stranger to snowboarding—or even monoskiing, for those who appreciate a retro throwback. When he’s not carving up the slopes, Jouni can be found on the Ju-Jitsu mats, bringing the same discipline and precision to martial arts as he does to skiing.
Whether you need tips on the best runs, a hidden lunch spot, or a bit of ski history, Jouni’s your guy. With a lifetime of experience in the mountains, he knows Val d’Isère inside out and is always happy to share his knowledge to help you make the most of your time on the snow.
With over a decade of experience in the ski industry, Ollie brings a calm, can-do energy to everything he does. After working and living across the Alps in France, Switzerland, and Austria, he has now settled in Tignes since 2020, a resort he now knows like the back of his hand. A passionate off-piste snowboarder with a love for narrow couloirs, he’s always keen to share his knowledge of the mountain, whether it’s finding untouched powder or recommending the best pistes and après spots.
During the summer months, Ollie swaps snow for trails, spending his time hiking, road biking, and trail running in the mountains. When away from the Alps, he’s usually off chasing waves, learning to surf in different spots around the world.
Whether it’s making sure everything runs smoothly behind the scenes or offering local tips, Ollie is the friendly face you’ll be glad to see throughout your stay.
There’s not much Dan can’t fix. Having lived and breathed the Alps for years, he knows exactly what it takes to keep our chalets in top shape—especially the all-important hot tubs (yes, he’s the unsung hero behind those perfectly bubbling jets after a long ski day). From fine-tuning boot warmers to making sure chalet doors close with a satisfying click, Dan’s usually one step ahead—and always keen to try out the latest tool or gadget. These days, he’s got a trusty sidekick too: Mars, his four-legged apprentice, who’s learning the ropes one chalet at a time.
Erin is the newest recruit to our sales team and brings an enthusiastic, can-do energy to everything she does. Well-versed in all things Alps, she’s spent two winter seasons in La Plagne and Tignes, so she knows exactly what makes a ski holiday special — from first lifts to après.
Outside of work, Erin enjoys cooking, baking, Pilates, and spending time with friends. Her favourite resort is Tignes, where her top picks include coffee and a sausage roll from Le Corner in Val Claret, pizza on the terrace at L’Étincelle in Val d’Isère, or a fancy dinner at La Table de Jeanne in Tignes Val Claret. For après, it has to be Coco Rico, followed by a drink at Loop Bar, which stays sunny all day and is great vibes!
This will be David’s fourth winter with us, and he brings over 20 years of culinary experience to the team. Having worked across the Alps for 12 seasons — his first back in 2007 — David knows exactly what guests look forward to after a long day on the slopes. He’s in charge of designing our menus each winter, focusing on fresh, flavourful dishes that balance comfort and creativity.
During the season, David is based in Val Thorens at our largest chalet, Bonhomme. A passionate skier (and soon-to-be snowboarder), his favourite resort is Val Thorens and the Les Trois Vallées ski area. His go-to spot for dinner in Val Thorens is the Scandinavian Brasserie and Wine Bar — especially for the oysters. Outside of the kitchen, David grows heritage varieties of fruits and vegetables and loves to spend time foraging when he’s not cooking.
His favourite Alpine dish is a warm Vacherin Mont d’Or — oozy melted cheese served simply with fresh bread and local charcuterie.
Katie has spent four winters in Tignes, fully embracing the mountain life she loves. A keen telemark skier, ski tourer and lover of off-piste, she knows the mountains inside out. Friendly, calm and organised, Katie brings the skills of her background as a professional actor to every interaction.
When not on the slopes, she enjoys theatre and film, keeping active and spending quality time with her dogs back home in the UK. Her passion for the mountains and creating great experiences means she is perfectly placed to ensure every guest enjoys a seamless and memorable holiday from start to finish.
Katie's favourite mountain meal is a fondue in Le Planté de Bâton in Tignes Val Claret, whilst her favourite restaurant is La Petite LuLu, also in Tignes Val Claret!
Now in her seventh European season, Jemima is thrilled to be managing the beautiful resort of Tignes, bringing enthusiasm, experience, and a true love for mountain life.
Having spent winters in the Alps and summers in Greece and Croatia, she’s well-versed in hospitality and life outdoors. A keen snowboarder with a passion for cooking, dancing, and travel, Jemima is happiest carving down the mountain or relaxing with a good coffee before exploring.
Her favourite restaurant in Tignes Le Lavachet is Kodo, and she can’t resist a classic French onion soup with a mulled wine. Always ready with local tips and a friendly smile, Jemima ensures every stay in Tignes is seamless, memorable, and full of fun.
With French and English roots, Flo has always felt at home in the mountains — and Val Thorens is where that passion shines. She first clicked into skis at four and has never looked back. Now in her second season with Buildmyskitrip, and fourth in the ski industry, she continues to build a career inspired by her lifelong love of the slopes.
As Resort Manager, Flo ensures every guest enjoys seamless service, memorable moments, and the very best of Val Thorens. When she’s not working or skiing, she’s usually outdoors — hiking, cycling, or trying something new in the sun.
Her favourite restaurant in Val Thorens is Tivoli, and her go-to mountain dish is a rich truffle raclette.
